Superstar rapper from Louisiana is helping children  prepare for the upcoming 2013 school year.
Percy Miller, better known as Master P is a rapper, actor and entrepreneur but Thursday he was a mentor to kids.
“Education saved my life,” Master P said.
Hundreds of bright-eyed students gathered at Central High School where they received backpacks and school supplies. Many families were from the inner city school district , are
underprivileged or just strapped for cash like Cedric Binford, who relocated to Louisville after Hurricane Katrina.
“I’ve been out of work so it’s helping me out also. I really appreciate it,” Binford said.
WHAS 11: “Why do you think it’s so cool?”One student replied: “Because he’s helping kids that don’t got money to get school supplies.”

“What me and Chris 2X put together with Let The Kids Grow Foundation also in the community is for the kids to realize even though they’re living in poverty that you could be the
next me or next Muhammad Ali or Barack Obama. Education is so important,” Master P said.
With a huge crowd gathered around him, Master P talked to all the parents and kids about non-violence.
